Wackenhut Services, Inc. Employee Hits The Bull's-eye

Ronald Green, a Central Training Facility Range Safety Officer with Wackenhut Services' Oak Ridge Team, has success in his sites. He recently competed in the Tennessee State Police Pistol Combat State Tournament sponsored by the Tennessee Police Combat Association.

The Oak Ridger newspaper has the story of Green's successful day at the shooting range where he picked up two first place and a third place award for his straight shooting ways:

"Green was awarded first place in the master category for the revolver and, along with retired Tennessee State Trooper Lt. John Horton, was awarded first place in the revolver two-man team category.

Additionally, Green placed third overall in the semi-auto distinguished category and was honored with a spot on the NRA Police Pistol Combat State Team as one of the top six shooters in the match."

The newspaper goes on to talk about the tradition of competitive pistol shooting among WSI employees and past successes.

Congratulations to Ronald Green - Nice Shootin' Pardner!!

Wackenhut Services Employee Honored With Award

Tim Price a Wackenhut Services employee at the Oak Ridge Site was recently honored for his service in supporting the men and women of the reserve forces of the United States military.

Tim received the Seven Seals Award fro the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). The Oak-Ridger newspaper has the full story and a nice picture of Tim accepting the honor.

The newspaper describes the award as "the highest state award given from the ESGR and is given at the discretion of the committee chair in recognition of a significant individual or organizational achievement, initiative or support over time that promotes the mission of ESGR. It is the only award that transcends both the employer awards and the volunteer awards programs given by ESGR."

Tim Price is one more shining example of the type of men and women that WSI has selected to protect some of the most strategic sites in the country. He not only serves his nation every day at Oak Ridge - he also honors those who serve the nation in the armed forces. We would all do well to remember both!
