Fitness Awards at Savannah River Site

Congratulations to the WSI-Savannah River Site team members who have received 2008 Physical Fitness Achievement Awards. The award is presented to employees who complete the applicable physical fitness qualification standard test in a pre-determined time.

WSI-SRS protective force award recipients included:

Charles Shoup, Patricia Walker, Jimmy Gilchrist, Garey Cromwell, Mack Holland, Jeff Dumouchel, Paul Gerstenberger, Auren Mitchell, Andrew Deloach, Eric Galvin, Fred Carpenter and Jimmie Crawford.

Loaned executives help United Way

Interesting story in the Aiken Standard this week regarding the role loaned executives play in assisting the United Way of Aiken County's capital campaign. Among those interviewed for the piece was WSI's Maria Defever, a dispute resolution and compliance specialist at the Savannah River Site.

WSI's Cormier serving as United Way campaign division chair

Thank you to Sharon Cormier of WSI - Savannah River Site who will be serving as one of the division chairs for the upcoming United Way of Aiken County annual fundraising campaign, according to the Aiken Standard.

The campaign kicks off this week. Each year United Way of Aiken County assists more than 30 partnering human service agencies and about 60 programs they provide. Sharon will be chairing the industry division.

WSI - Oak Ridge Team participates in Veterans Business Conference

The WSI - Oak Ridge Team recently participated in a daylong Oak Ridge Veterans Business Conference designed to increase business opportunities for service-disabled veteran and veteran-owned small businesses.

According the Clarksville Online, more than 250 people attended the event, which was hosted by the Y-12 National Security Complex and the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services Procurement Technical Assistance Center.

WSI has received numerous awards for its support of veterans' employment, training and advancement opportunities.
