WSI Promotions at Savannah River Site

Congratulations to WSI's James H. (Bud) Isom and Randy Garver of the Savannah River Site (SRS) team on their recent promotions.

Isom, the Senior Vice President and General Manager at WSI-SRS since 2005, has been named WSI's corporate Senior Vice President for Operations Support. He will be responsible for integrating corporate acquisitions into WSI's organizational structure and coordinating resource support to WSI's various business units.

WSI President and CEO Dave Foley said Isom "has transformed WSI-SRS into a top-performing organization capable of meeting DOE's rapidly changing security requirements. Our other business units will now benefit from his leadership and experience." 

Randy Garver, currently WSI's Assistant General Manager for Operations Support at SRS, will succeed Isom as SRS Senior Vice President and General Manager.

Garver joined WSI-SRS in May, 2004 as Director of Training and was promoted to Assistant General Manager in February, 2008 with oversight for all business management, security support, planning and infrastructure and workforce training.

He has over 36 years of experience in security management. Prior to joining WSI-SRS, he served 28 years in the U.S. Army and served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his distinguished military career, Garver served in a variety of troop and staff assignments that included leadership positions from squad leader to brigade commander.

Employee milestones/recognition at Nevada Test Site

Congratulations to the following WSI-Nevada Test Site team members who recently achieved employee milestones or received special recogntion:

Promotions - Nichalaus Anderson and Kamal Razeeq to SAS.

Service Awards - Jon Paarlberg, 10 years; and Chris Horner, five years.

Safety BRAVO Awards - Barry Flood and Douglas Osborne.

Dave Bradley receives Contractor Champion Award

Congratulations to Dave Bradley, General Manager of WSI's Nevada Test Site team, who recently received the Department of Energy's Voluntary Protection Program Contractor Champion Award.

The award is given for "outstanding performance and leadership in furthering the advancement of the U.S. Department of Energy's Voluntary Protection Program."

Dave received the award at a ceremony including Steve Mellington, Acting Manager Site Office, and Brigadier General Jonathan Gage, USAF, Principal Assistant Deputy to the Chief of Defense Programs.

Nevada Test Site team aids local elementary school

Congratulations on a job well done to everyone at WSI - Nevada Test Site who assisted the Quannah McCall Elementary School Back-to-School Supplies Drive, which was a resounding success.

In addition to the school supplies, WSI provided 16 school uniform shirts for Quannah McCall students. WSI's contributions helped fill the void created by state budget cuts and economic hardship that has hit some families harder than others.

Savannah River's Dumouchel wins marksmanship award

Congratulations to Jeffrey Dumouchel of WSI's Savannah River Site team! He received the Clifford Moyer Marksmanship Award from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy during his recent graduation ceremony.

Officer Dumouchel, a LE Canine Trainer at SRS, also received the highest score in his class during the nine-week program.

Savannah River's Fred Tymeson earns law enforcement honor

Congratulations to WSI-Savannah Ridge Site Law Enforcement Officer Fred Tymeson! He was recently selected by the American Society of Industrial Security as the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.

Office Tymeson as recognized for his contributions to humanity and dedication to his profession at a ceremony in Augusta, Georgia. A volunteer firefighter in Allendale, S.C., he was recently recognized for donating one of his kidneys to a fellow firefighter.

New York Times article on Hanford Nuclear Reservation

The New York Times had an interesting story yesterday on the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, its role in the Cold War, and the ongoing cleanup effort at the site.

WSI is part of the Lockheed Martin team that was recently awarded a Department of Energy contract for work at Hanford.

WSI member of team awarded Hanford contract

Wackenhut Services, Inc. is a member of the team - Mission Support Alliance - that has been awarded a Department of Energy (DOE) contract for work at the Hanford nuclear reservation. The team is led by Lockheed Martin and also includes Jacobs Engineering Group.

According to the Tri-City Herald, the new mission support contract will cover services such as security, fire protection, computer services and other information technology, utilities, training at HAMMER and road and railroad services.

The initial contract is for five years with options to extend it to 10 years.
