More on the new Oak Ridge training facilities

The Oak Ridger has a good story today on the two new training facilities at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge Complex. The new Tactical Training Facility (TTF) and Live Fire Shoot House are managed by the Wackenhut Services Inc. - Oak Ridge Team.

According to the Oak Ridger, the TTF is the first of its kind in the DOE complex. Its interior walls, doors and window can be configured to simulate buildings security police officer currently protect and can be used for various tactical training exercises.

The new Live Shoot Fire House, which can accomodate both pistols and rifles, alos features movable interior walls that enable a variety of training scenarios, including "shoot, don't shoot" situations.

Both buildings were constructed by local firms with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers oversight.
